Veterans Day
DO YOU HAVE A VETERAN IN YOUR FAMILY?
The Academy of St. Louis wants to salute them on November 11, 2024. There will be a program; afterward, donuts and coffee will be served. Please send your veteran’s name, rank, and picture (if possible) to Kathy Lagos at klagos@sbcglobal.net as soon as possible. This includes deceased veterans, whether they died in the war or not.
Also, if you have a scout in your family, girl or boy, and would like to participate in posting the colors. Please let me know.
Thank you for your service!

We had so much fun exploring our Monsters and Fall theme this week! During story time, we read Little Blue Truck’s Halloween, Hey, That’s My Monster, and I Don’t Want to Wash My Hands, tying in essential lessons on hygiene, friendship, and strength. In Math, we practiced counting with leaves, helping the students engage with nature while learning numbers. Our social-emotional focus was on keeping our hands and feet to ourselves, reinforcing personal space and kindness with peers. For special activities, the students loved painting trees and pumpkins with cotton balls in art, and we combined science and art by making leaf art using markers and foil. It was a week full of creativity, learning, and fun!
Mrs. Richardson and Mrs. Barry’s groups visited Pioneer Bakery in Kirkwood this week. There, the students learned about a partnership between Lafayette Industries and McArthur’s Bakery. Several students wanted to return with their families because the baked goods looked so yummy!
Remember to complete your October Bingo Sheets for a monthly prize and a chance to win the first quarter drawing. If you need a new sheet, please let Mrs. Barry know.
We want to spotlight a few of our students this week.
Sam Bradshaw. Sam is being recognized for his consistent thoughtfulness for others. Whether he is holding the door for a teacher or another student or giving a compliment, you can always count on Sam for his kindness.
Ryan Higgins, who joined our group this week. Ryan has been an excellent class addition and has displayed significant participation and leadership skills.
Eva Johns for working hard and supporting her classmates through work and social situations.
Nathan Roeslein‘s leadership skills inside and outside the classroom.
We had a good week, and everybody did a great job on their cell project. Students enjoyed getting to see each other’s projects on display. For next week, we are looking forward to having parent-teacher conferences to highlight all of the positive things students have accomplished this semester.
